CivicLex
CivicLex helps residents of Fayette County, Kentucky understand local government, helps local government connect with residents and is committed to building a community in which every citizen can meaningfully participate in the decisions that shape where they live.
The project describes itself as being like a civic toolbox for building a more engaged community. They cover and report on city hall to the community, bring people together to learn from different perspectives and to process community challenges, and they do deep community-based research. The organization is also committed to helping young people find their civic voice. Their motto is, “Just grab the tool you need and get to it!”
