TECHO works to end extreme poverty among many thousands of people living in at risk barrios deal with on a daily basis. 114 million people in Latin America and the Caribbean live in precarious places, for the most part without adequate housing. TECHO worsk to organize and unite the work of young volunteers with the adults and neighbors in at risk communities. Their dream is of a just society without poverty.
They promote community development in the most vulnerable neighborhoods to overcome poverty and improve living conditions by promoting the organization, identity, participation and networking of the community, working together to solve their problems. TECHO works in 19 other Latin American countries.
