Trafkintu
Trafkintu is an ancestral Mapuche tradition that strengthens food autonomy with reciprocity, honesty and wisdom. In Chile, the focus is on “recovery of agro-cultures and conservation of seed varieties.” Since being revived about a decade ago, the ancient Trafkintu tradition of seed exchanges now take place independently in dozens of communities across the southern Andes every year, especially in Chile and Argentina.
