VIC / CIVICS
Vivero de Iniciativas Ciudadanas (VIC – Nursery of Citizens’ Initiatives) and its companion project CIVICS develop projects with a collaborative design approach, generating networks and alliances with initiatives and communities that seek a positive impact on the planet.
They connect urban innovation ecosystems by sharing practices, situated knowledge and learning while identifying areas of joint opportunity and natural allies. This ecosystem of initiatives presupposes “another way of doing things”.
The methodology tests novel approaches to urban problem solving to “learn by doing” and then scales successful projects.
The interactive, Creative Commons CIVICS social-political mapping project is operating in more than a dozen countries.
